When I moved to San Miguel de Allende the local bus system confused me terribly, and I think most others have the same issue.
After building San Miguel Murals, someone reached out and asked if I might want to also build a similar “map” of the bus routes. I was happy to see if I could fix my own lack of understanding of the bus system along with helping others, so I volunteered.
As I started building it, it became clear that it should start with the question of “where do you want to go?” and then give directions. San Miguel is also so small and so walkable (despite the cobblestones) that it made sense to first give walking as an option and buses as a 2nd choice.
And it was based on these simple ideas that go-sma.com was born.
Since then it has grown a list of favorite restaurants. Each one is a place someone keeps going back to, residents and visitors alike, in their own words, and I read every one before it goes up. Like everything else here, each comes with walking and bus directions.
