Privacy notice

Who is responsible. Go SMA (go-sma.com) is run by Adam Katz, in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico, who is responsible for the personal data described here. You can reach him at adam@geekeasy.com.

Most of the site needs nothing from you. Places you save (My places) stay in your own browser and never reach us, unless you are a foodie signed in to your account. When you use the search box, we log what you typed, your IP address and a random id for your browser, to make the search better. There are no ads and no tracking cookies.

If you join the foodies. When you ask to join we keep your name, your email and the line you write about yourself. With an account we also keep the handle you pick, a line about you, your photo, the favorites you send, and a record of each decision on them (approved, held or turned down, and why). While you are signed in, the places in My places are kept with your account too (their names, where they are and when you saved them), so every phone or computer where you sign in has them. To stop abuse we keep a scrambled code (a hash) made from your IP address, which can’t be turned back into the address. Your password is kept only as a hash too, so nobody can read it, not even us. One cookie keeps you signed in, and a second one, which holds nothing about you, tells the pages to show Sign out.

What we use it for. To answer your request, send your invite and any link to reset your password, and show your name, photo, line and favorites on the site once they are approved. Those are public, so search engines such as Google can list them (your own page once you have 3 favorites). Your email is never shown. To review and translate what you send, your favorites, their photos, your name and your line are read by Claude, an AI from Anthropic; nothing else about you goes there. We don’t sell your data or share it with anyone else. It is stored with our web host, Hostinger, which also sends our email.

See, change or delete it. You can change your name, line and photo on your account page at any time. Delete my account, on the same page, deletes your account, photos, email and the places kept with it right away (this browser keeps its own copy of My places); your favorites and the record of decisions on them are deleted too, and come off the site within a few minutes. To ask what we keep about you, to correct it, or to object to its use (your ARCO rights under Mexican law), email adam@geekeasy.com and we will answer within 20 days.

Changes. If this notice changes, the new version is posted on this page. Last updated October 27, 2026.
