Del Chorro Park

Built on a steep hill that’s equal parts scenic and a serious workout as you climb the steps up and down. The springs here played a major role in the development, and eventual relocation, of the settlement that became San Miguel.

Winding through the park is the Paseo del Chorro, San Miguel’s answer to San Francisco’s famous Lombard Street. Included along it are the historic Lavaderos, the public basins where women once washed clothes communally.

At the top of the park you’ll find the Casa de la Cultura El Chorro cultural center and the Fuente de Itzquinapan.

El Chorro park sits just above Benito Juárez Park, and if you keep climbing the stairs above it you’ll reach El Mirador.
