San Juan de Dios Market

A traditional neighborhood market serving everyday local needs. Expect food, produce, meat, prepared meals, and other practical goods rather than the tourist souvenirs found elsewhere in town. It’s a bit smaller than, and on the opposite side of the center from, the Mercado Ignacio Ramírez.

Next to the mercado are the Arcos del Atascadero, a late-1800s structure that carried water into town as an aqueduct. In the shade of the arches are a bunch of shops selling clothes, shoes, household supplies, and more.
