Founded in San Miguel in 1712 by the Oratorians, this 18th-century church sits just alongside the San Francisco complex.

Its pink-quarry-stone Baroque façade is especially interesting for the Indigenous influence in its carving, and the interior is filled with paintings and elaborate religious decoration.

Inside is the Santa Casa de Loreto, a lavish chapel from the 1730s paid for by the wealthy Canal family, modeled on the Holy House of Loreto in Italy.

It’s very close to the Centro, and the Salud church is right next door.

  • On foot: about 6 min from the Jardín.
  • Buses that stop nearby: Rutas 1, 4 and 6 at Oratorio/Plaza Zaragoza (1 min walk); Rutas 5 and 11 at Insurgentes (entre Hidalgo y Hernández Macías) (6 min walk); Rutas 8 and 9 at San Francisco y Murillo (6 min walk).
