Parque Benito Juárez is a large, leafy historic park just south of the Centro. Created from former orchards, it was inaugurated in 1904 and designed in a French/Porfirian garden style, with paths, fountains, bridges, and mature trees.

Much more of an everyday local park than the Jardín, it’s where people come to exercise, walk dogs, sit, and play sports. Look up, too: the tall trees are home to a big colony of nesting egrets and herons.

El Chorro is just uphill, so the two make an easy pairing.

Getting there

  • On foot: about 11 min from the Jardín.
  • Buses that stop nearby: Rutas 6, 10 and 11 at Ancha de San Antonio y Nemesio Diez (6 min walk); Ruta 4 at La Ancha & C. Nemesio Diez (6 min walk); Rutas 8 and 9 at Salida Real a Querétaro y Piedras Chinas (11 min walk).
